Translators United
At Salaborsa, Bologna’s beautiful main library, NORLA yesterday had the great pleasure of hosting an event for translators of Norwegian literature into other languages.
As part of the Norwegian Guest of Honour presentation at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, we held a physical version of the normally digital “NORLA’s Translator’s Pastry Shop” – or Oversetterkonditori.

Here twenty translators met both us working in NORLA, as well as colleagues from ten different countries. We are very grateful that they also served each other “bokdrops” (i.e. “book candy”), which are short presentations of favourite books for children and young adults.
Are you curious about the titles? You will find them below:
Håkon Marcus: Embla Wilde – Beneath the Roots
Ingrid Ovedie Volden: The Heart Is a Clenched Fist
Endre Lund Eriksen, Linde Faas (ill.): Nora’s Ark
Marit Larsen, Jenny Løvlie (ill.): Where Agnes Lives
Jon Fosse, Akin Düzakin (ill.): Kant
Per Dybvig: The Line
Lars Mæhle, Lars Rudebjer (ill.): The Dinosaur Bunch
